Zoron Vasic has been
fighting for 4 years with the Kingsville Boxing Club. He won
the gold at the Winter Games and was the winner of the Diamond Gloves.
Zoran was also silver medallist in the Canadian Championships in
1999 and won gold at the 2000 Provincials.
Edizen Veluz was undefeated
when she became the Border City Boxing Club's first Female Canadian
Champion. She also defeated the Illinois State Champion and set the
stage for her female team-mates: Ontario Champion Donna Canty and
3-Time World Champion Margaret Sidoroff.
Earl Walls was Born in Puce, Ontario. He was the great grandson of John Freeman Walls. He took pride in his Black heritage, became a successful real estate broker and was involved in several charities, including the Toronto Sunshine Games sponsored by Variety Village. He is a member of the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Afro-American Sports Hall of Fame.
Chris Ward won the Canadian
Title for the Amherstberg Boxing Club, under Coach Wayne Goodchild.
Mickey Warner was the
coach at the Windsor Y.C.W. Boxing Club.
Bill White, "Mr.
Boxing," has been involved in boxing in the Windsor area for
15 years. In 1987 he took what was left of the defunct Ren-Cen Boxing
Club and took on Doug Bedard as Head Coach of the newly formed Border
City Boxing Club. In 1999 he retired as President of The Border City
Boxing Club.
Jack White trained many
fighters including his son Bill who would go on to train, manage,
and motivate hundreds of fighters in the Windsor area.
Chad Wigle fought for
both the Kingsville Boxing Club and the Border City Boxing Club and
has coaching experience at the Border City
Boxing Club, the Adanac Boxing Club and various gyms in Detroit. Chad's academic approach to
the science of boxing has made him into an excellent trainer who is
sure to produce Champions for years to come.
Chad currently owns and operates Lethal Athletics.
Rollie Wilkes fought for
Mickey Warner at the Windsor Y.C.W. Boxing Club. Rollie was the Michigan
State Golden Gloves Champion.
Andy Wong fought under
Johnny Kubinic and Kirk Scott at the Ren-Cen Boxing Club. Any also
had a successful professional career at the Windsor Boxing Club.
Andy now coaches at the Fighting Island Boxing Club of Lasalle.
Amy York was Kingsville's
first female fighter. She boxed for two years and won the Canadian
Championship in 1999.
