"Gorgeous" Andre Gorges (middle, with "Jackknife Josh Cameron and Eyobe "Sharpshooter" Amberber) is Border City's busiest boxer ever!
In November 2001, Andre Gorges walked into the Border City Boxing Club for the first time.
He had his first bout three months later at the 2002 Brampton Cup, winning the Gold Medal and helping
Border City win its second consecutive Best Team Award at the tournament. Over the next four years,
Andre would compete all over Ontario, Michigan, Quebec, Ohio, Newfoundland, Kansas City, Ireland, and Finland,
averaging over 25 bouts a year. In October 2005, Andre reached the century mark - 100 bouts in his
fourth year of boxing. In his 98th contest, on August 6, 2005, Gorges won his third bout at the
2005 Ringside World Championships and captured the 152 lbs. Senior Men's Open Championship Belt. One year later, "Gorgeous" repeated the feat, winning four bouts to re-capture the Ringside Welterweight Title and also bringing his bout total to 127!
