Border City 3-Peat!

The Border City Boxing Club has once again defended its Best Team Award at the annual Brampton Cup Tournament, BECOMING THE FIRST TEAM EVER TO 3-PEAT!

Border City captured seven Gold Medals, four Silver Medals and two Bronze Medals.

Stephen Schram led the way with three wins for the Gold and also earned an award for the Best Jr. B Bout of the Tournament.

Ontario Champion, Lukas Welniak, won two bouts including a 15-11 decision over Quebec Champion Eric Chevallier. Welniak and Chavallier will likely meet again at the Junior National Championships in Sarnia next month.

Jarrod Whittaker scored a first round T.K.O. to win the Gold in his division and Josh Cameron dominated his opponent by an 18-1 score to take the Gold Medal in the Jr. B Open division.

Novice Provincial Champions Garth Brown and Mikey Plantus both won Gold Medals in their only bouts as did newcomer Adam LaJoy. Silver Medals were won by Andre Gorges, Alison Hunter, Greg Galgiewska and Jamie Cameron while Katie Dunn and Kate Gilbert earned Bronze Medals.
