Border City Claims Best Team Award in Brampton

The Border City Boxing Club took a small but successful team to Brampton to compete at the annual Brampton Cup Tournament this weekend.

Ahmad "Pokey" Kalakeche won a Gold Medal, Katie "Silence" Dunn won Gold, Matt "K.O. Kid" Martin claimed Gold, Justin "Quick"Girard also took Gold, and "Sweet Feet" Jordan Girard won the silver.

The points total gave Border City the highest score and The Best Team Award.

Sidoroff is Honoured with National Developmental Coaching Award

Coaching at the Local, Provincial and National Levels, Windsor's Margaret Sidoroff was honoured this weekend in Montreal with a National Developmental Coaching Award.

In addition to coaching the Border City Boxing Club, Margaret has been selected to coach several Provincial Teams at the National Level, as well as the Female National Team at the International Level.

Margaret Sidoroff earns Phenomenal Woman Award

Windsor's Female Boxing Pioneer and Manager of the Border City Boxing Club has been awarded the Phenomenal Woman Award for 2001.

Margaret's three World Boxing Championships and her continued investment in her city's youth made her a unanimous choice for this year's Phenomenal Woman Award.

Sidoroff Named Windsor Woman of the Year

The Border City Boxing Club's Margaret Sidoroff has been named Windsor Woman of the Year by the Women's Incentive Centre. Sidoroff cited sports as an important influence in developing self-esteem, particularly in young ladies.

Margaret is very proud to receive this award.

Margaret Sidoroff to Coach Canadian Amateur Team at First Women's World Boxing Championships

The Inaugural Female Boxing Championships will be held in Scranton, PA. and Windsor's Margaret Sidoroff has been named Team Coach.

Sidoroff worked with the Female National Team at at an International Tournament in Finland earlier this year and looks forward to coaching and mentoring elite athletes for years to come.

Champs Mural Erected on Drouillard Road

The Drouillard Road Community unveiled a 30 foot painting of Border City's Margaret Sidoroff on one of the walls of Drouillard Road this week. Alex Borchuk is also honoured in the mural.

Margaret's outstanding boxing career is commemorated in Donna Maine's artwork, as well as Margaret's commitment to the Drouillard Road youth and her outreach programs designed to improve the appearance and esteem of the area.
