Sidoroff Stops Third Straight Opponent

Windsor's Margaret Sidoroff fought close to home on December 12, 1998 in Detroit, Michigan.

The result was disappointing for Sidoroff as she easily stopped an over-matched Danielle Williams in the first round.

"Mean" Margaret, now 3-0, vowed never to face an opponent with Williams' lack of skill again.

In her second professional bout, Margaret Sidoroff faced Rose Johnson on September 11, 1998.

Confounded by Sidoroff's speed and superior defense, Johnson did not answer the bell for the third round.

"Mean" Margaret moved her pro record to 2-0.

Sidoroff Defeats Nova Scotia and Quebec to become Canadian Champion

Border City Boxing Club's "Mean" Margaret Sidoroff out-boxed Quebec's Janique Verenoux in the semi-finals of the Canadian Championships, then took the 112 pound Gold Medal by out-pointing Nova Scotia's Katherine Lewis.

When an International Tournament in Greece fell through, Sidoroff challenged the 119 pound National Champion, Patricia Picotin of Quebec at the Molson Centre in Montreal.

Sidoroff ran her amateur record to a perfect 13-0 and now sets her sights on turning pro.
